VBS and the Go Fish Guys

We had a great time during VBS this year. The kids were great troopers arriving early and leaving late while I helped the 2nd floor teachers with whatever they needed. The highlight of the week was the Thursday night community outreach with the Go Fish Guys. Blaine was very excited to go to his first concert and see these guys in person. I first heard them in concert at the MOPS convention 3 years ago. Their tagline is "great kids music that won't drive their parents bonkers". This is really true. Blaine has worn out their first two CD's that I brought home that weekend and I am still not sick of their music.



Once Delaney truly woke up from her late nap, she was ready to jump and dance in the aisle. Blake (Allie's cousin) is sitting in the chair playing his air guitar.



John took this great picture of Blaine playing his air guitar during the "American Kid" encore song. Both Blaine and Delaney love to rock out when this song comes on. It is a riot to see them jumping and dancing around. Look out 80's hair bands, the Nickell kids are here!!




After the concert we hung out and had our new CD signed, the only one we did not have yet. The kids also had two of our reserved seat posters signed. They were very excited and waited so patiently. Here they are posing with Andy, Jason and Jamie.

What a great year for VBS. These guys also produced their first vacation Bible school curriculum Back to the Bible: Putting the Bible back in Vacation Bible School. It was good curriculum mixed with loads of extras for the kids, like missions, music and bouncy houses. The kids had a blast and learned lots. We cannot wait until next year.
